Community Outreach: Potwin Church is committed to helping others in the community through our efforts in the following organizations:

Doorstep of Topeka -- food, clothing and social services.
Topeka Rescue Mission -- shelter for the homeless, job training , etc.
VIDA -- Hispanic Outreach Ministry in Topeka English classes, child care, etc.
Compassionate Friends -- for families who have lost children
Presbyterian Church, USA
Presbytery of Northern Kansas

Potwin Church has a history of being an active congregation, and even though we are smaller now, we are no less active. Our building is a community center. A Narcotics Anonymous group meets in the lower level of our building that has been part of our community for 30 years...it is the longest continuously running NA group in the city of Topeka! The Potwin Neighborhood association holds its monthly and annual meetings here, as does the Topeka Natural Food Co-op. There are yoga classes held here on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Besides our worshiping community the building houses the Americana Music Academy, a non-profit organization that teaches about the music that is rooted in America, such as blues, jazz, bluegrass and much more. In addition, it provides music lessons for eager learners of all ages and all types of music. There are jam sessions in which any musician can come play.

Potwin is a small church. While you won't find here a large church with big groups divided by age, you will find a small supportive, family-like environment. People of all ages worship and work and learn alongside each other. There is a youth group, and the church makes sure all youth have a chance at summer camp opportunities.
