	... a warm and loving place. Potwin Presbyterian Church is on the south side of the historic Potwin Place neighborhood in the capital city of Topeka, Kansas. It has served faithfully from the corner of Washburn and Willow for more than 80 years and existed as a congregation since 1889. While once a much larger congregation, we are now a small church with a neighborly atmosphere. The church’s role is to be the presence of Christ. Potwin’s dedicated members put in the time to make the church a viable, mission-oriented entity. The church building is a meeting place to worship God and celebrate the sacraments and a meeting place for various neighborhood groups. These include 12-step groups, Girl Scouts, local businesses and the Potwin Neighborhood Association. The church has hosted concerts and activities to promote the arts and health. Many members visit and phone housebound members to keep them connected, and in-home communion is offered. Our Parents Morning Out, a free monthly morning of fun for children, is in its fifth year. We are actively involved in supporting local organizations such as Vida, Doorstep and the Topeka Rescue Mission. Members also contribute financially to many denominational and global mission efforts. 	... a wonderful place to grow up. Potwin Presbyterian Church encourages youth to be a part of all aspects of church life. They sing side by side with adults in choir, play side by side with the adults in bell choir, work side by side with the adults in mission projects. The church also has traditional Sunday school and youth group programs. Potwin Church provides a multi-generational experience for all. Therefore, while the Sunday morning worship gathering is central to our lives as followers of Christ, is not the only way we worship God. From Sunday Evening Sing Alongs to Bible and book studies to special services at other times and places, we strive to make sure that everything we do is to the glory of God.
